Welcome to Children’s Aid Society of Algoma

CUPE Local 5269 represents  approximately 100 Child Protection Workers and Support Staff in the Algoma District.

Our workers ensure children are in a place of safety at all times.  The Support Staff are there to support everyone.  We are local people supporting local businesses and encourage our members and the public to shop locally to help our district continue to prosper even in these times of provincial government cutbacks.

Low wages at CAS Algoma make it impossible for the agency to hire and keep staff. This has a direct negative impact on the children, youth, and families who depend on these workers.  Our communities need these workers. The Ministry and Management need to advocate on behalf of the agency to invest in services they provide by negotiating a fair wage and safe working conditions.

Please support the Worth Fighting For Campaign in your community. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER to ensure our future.

The union protects you from discrimination, harassment and unfair treatment
